Koolaid Dyeing – Part 3

This last batch was our favorite of the night. Three yarns – Cascade 220 Superwash, Woolease and some Cotton. ( I think that’s what we had!). We soaked the yarn, and layed it in the crockpot of hot water. Let the fun begin!

With a lovely peacock blue, purple and yellow, we proceeded to “paint” the colors all over the yarn, in some places pouring color, in others only injecting a small amount. This was a fun one to watch develop. We could see immediately that the cascade 220 was soaking up the colors in deep, rich hues. It wasn’t until the next morning, however, that we were surprised with this:

A deep green with subtle variations – a beautiful color these pictures can’t begin to represent. This was an amazing transformation, and next month, we are going to try and recreate it in a larger batch.
