Has it really been a year?

Wow – almost a full year since my last post! A lot has changed around here – someone’s been growing up!

April 2012 - 16 months old

Sometime after that last post, Gus started moving around, and that put an end to my “playing on the laptop while parenting” phase. If my laptop is even open while he is around now, he will use all his considerable powers to reach it and pound on it. So that limits my computer time to after his 8 pm bedtime, which is also the only time I get to read, drink alcohol, shower, clean the floors and watch what I really want to on TV. So yes, blogging has been shifted below all of the above – even the floors – on the free time priority scale.

Something has changed, though, and I am inspired to write again. I stayed up late (11 pm!) several nights in a row working on a guest post for my friend Ashley. I’ve spent commutes composing blog posts in my head. I think it’s time to get this thing going again. Only, I think it is going to be more of a variety show than it has been. Some pregnancy and motherhood, some crafty stuff, health and fitness, nostalgia, book reviews, maybe. We’ll see what’s on my mind when I sit down to write.
